If its a huge incline or decline... It could possibly move fuel away momentarily from pick up temporarily reducing fuel pressure. Is your main fuel pump aftermarket???

I have a Rare regina 2 pump system and my intank pump does nothing to effect fuel pressure or performance!

on my 740 turbo bosch 2-pump system, when the in tank pump went out, below 1/3rd tank, the engine would starve under heavy acceleration in a mid gear and mid to upper RPMs, also the main pump was quite noisy even with a full tank. new tank pump, main pump went back to silent.
