Default AHHHHH gas leak.......help?

OK so..... The leak is coming from the subframe area of the fuel pump.....roughly under the drivers seat.

I got home last night and pulled out the fuel relay with the car running to cut the gas feed

now..... what are the historical chances it is a line? the fuel pump? the fuel sender?
can the pump spring a leak? can the lines be snipped and refit if it is a line?

any help please!

The previous owner of my 240 had the main pump and filter replaced. The shop used a cheap fuel line to go between the two and eventually it cracked. The proper connection uses a banjo fitting (740 same as 240) and sometimes people forget the copper crush washers which leads to leaks. Sounds like a good inspection is needed.

It's probably a line/clamp thing. Of course, you'll never know until you look-just get in there and it will be pretty obvious. Be cautious with gas leaks.

welllll - to the best of my 'just-got-home-from-work-looking-under-the-car-with-a-headlamp-why-is-it-already-39-degrees-in-sept-in-north-pa-knowledge' it looks like the filter.....not sure if it was stock or not (its a 1990) .........but the damn thing looks cheaper than a coffee can

i couldnt find any gas on the pump or line connections......seems the filter just cracked or something - its rusty as hell

anyone know what i should expect in terms of gas flow when i get this puppy off?
or any tips?

I wouldn't clamp the outsidehose, instead have several diameters of plugs around for inside the hose when you remove it.

thanks guys! as soon as this part lands on my porch im going to be on my way - and able to park the SUV and back in the Big Black Brick - (thats the semi dirty name for my wagon because the ladies love it, not) - "Once they go Big Black Brick they never go back" haha

on a serious note - i am also going to keep one of those cone shaped size adjustable errrr twistable wine corks - my co-worker said it works well in a pinch for this application
