Gas Pump - does it effect gas milage?

I just recently had my leaking gas pump replaced with a new one(1989 Volvo 240dl non turbo). I can't tell if it's in my head or not, but it seems like I am getting less gas mileage. Does the brand/quailty of the gas pump effect that?
