AW-70L Converter Question
Good morning folks.
First off, the 1990 740 with a B230F for the US market seems to have only one stock transmission as originally equipped: the AW-70L (true?). From what I can tell, the AW-70L seems also to have been a popular gearbox for a number of different cars over the years from Isuzu, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Volvo...
At any rate, interested in the maximum "locked" or "holding" torque which the converter will allow before slippage as fitted in the AW-70L. Does anyone have this info, and where is this type of specification listed?
Thanks again --

the turbos used the beefier AW-71 (without lockup), and the 16V DOHC B234F version used the re-geared AW-72
I've never seen any torque specs for any of these, just gear ratios. They are all variants on the Toyota A43D
