B230E engine...
I noticed that the sticker on the timing belt cover says "b230e". Not knowing too much about the redblock engine i was surprised to see this...and then wiki says there was a b230e engine with 131hp for model years 85-87.
So do ya think that my made in Belgium in September 1988 744 could have a different engine from the b230f? And why are they different HP?

where are you located ? From what I have gathered, the "E" engines are higher compression versions that were available in europe and select other world markets, but not north america. there's also an B230ET turbo
I live in Columbus Ohio.
The sticker...which is on there pretty good...actually says "b230es"...I've read that the "s" means Sweden friendly with regard to emissions i think.
I suppose it could read FS rather than ES...it for sure ain't turbo
