Does anybody here used a bigger oil filter,and what type.

 

Why would you want to use a bigger one?
If you really must buy one for a Ford 302 5.0 engine The Ford # is a FL1A.
They are bigger than the Volvo ones are and the same thread.

I use a Volvo one on my Mustang. The Volvo one has a check valve built into it that holds oil pressure once the car is turned off. I like it that way thats why I use the volvo one.

 

I would have to agree with Tech and suggest the original, but of course, Motorcraft FL1A has a check also.
