Default Bigger rear brakes

My rear rotors and pads are shot. I cannot believe how quickly this vehicle goes through pads.

Since everything needs to be replaced I was thinking about getting larger pads and rotors to deal with them.

So I am looking for some ideas as although I can get the work done, I would need to know everything I would have to buy to accomplish this as once the rear wheels are off I have to be able to get everything done before I can drive the car again.

Thoughts / suggestions?

Have you tried using aftermarket quality pads like Akebono? A brake modification like you are planning seems a little expensive. Are the calipers working freely and the slide pins? Usually you can get about 30K or more from a set of pads.

IT's not so much the pad life (although I got WAY better life on my Explorer) but the fact the rear rotors need to be replaced at 37k miles. That just seems insane.
