Bigger Rims
stock on a 240 is 14". Largest factory rim on a 740/940 was 16", using 205/55-16 tires, and those seriously harsh the ride quality on bad roads. Thats what I have on my 740T, and I'm wishing I'd stayed with 15"
of course, if this kid wants his old volvo to look like some MTV Ballers lowride, who are we to try and discourage him? I bet you could get 18's under there and run /35 tires that cost $400 each and lat 10k miles.
I agree.
However as a recently returned Volvo enthusiast after 40 years working on MB and Citroen cars, there are things I need to know.
For example, I know that Volvo 960s like mine use either 15" or 16" wheels with an ET (offset) of 15mm.
I don't know how to find the other wheels because I am confused by the naming system for wheels. By this I mean the wheel might be called a 70183 or a Pegasus or be given a Volvo part number.
Where is the list of common wheels for the models and the basic specs INCLUDING offset?
Can anyone help?
Really, this would be a great sticky. The MB guys have this down to a science.
Thanks!
