Default Bleeder Valve

Hey all.

I'm pretty new to working on cars and I just started to work on my brakes last week.

I need to bleed the brake fluid, but I'm not sure where the bleeder valve is.
I have a 1990 240 DL.

Any advice?

they are on the brake calipers, two on each front caliper and one on each rear caliper, little nipple-like thing with a screw at the base.

i'd recommend buying a handbook like the bentley handbook for the 240 because there is a specific order in bleeding and would give you more in-depth info.

Ok.
Can you just bleed the brake fluid out of one of them?

You mean one on each side of the single front caliper? Because I see two on the side and one on top. This is just on one single caliper. For example the driver's side front.

I would suggest you get both a service manual and a course on how to bleed a brake system. You always start from the furthest caliper and work your way to the closest caliper to the master cylinder. So start with the passenger side rear followed by the driver side rear and then the passenger side front and finally the driver side front. You can either purchase a power bleeder or replace the bleeder nipples with a product called speed bleeders or you can use the manual method which requires an assistant. Find someone who has done this before and ask for help.

oh ok, i just checked the bentley service manual (which you should really get) and yeah that's right, there are 2 bleeder valves on either side that lead to the lower chamber, and one bleeder valve that leads to the top chamber on the front calipers.

brake bleeding is kind of a pain the manual way, which is what i had to do...i tried using handheld mity vac at first (which you can get at an auto store), but couldn't get the seal around the screw airtight enough apparently...but you can still use the handy kit that comes with the pack to bleed manually.
