Blower problems 1993 940
I have a 93 940. When I turn on the AC the compressor turns on, but when I turn on the fan - nothing blows at any speed. Last year I had the air repaired and they used a switch panel I pulled from a junkyard. Naturally when the air stopped blowing recently I assumed it was the switch since I used an old part. Luckily, I have 91 740 so I was able to switch out the parts and test it in the other car - turns on no problem. Switch works. So that would indicate the blower motor or the resitor? Through some reading on this site I see that when it is the resistor the fan usually blows on high - which mine does not. So any advice on where to start? Blower motor? Still worth starting with the resistor? Thanks!
Sounds like the fan motor. Easy to change and cheap for the part.
Check that the intake is not blocked by debris: under the cowling on the passenger side, you'd have to take the cowling off to do this. Has the wire grill fallen down allowing laves and such to get in there?

You can test the blower motor once it's out of the car. Take 2 jumper wires and hook the motor up to the car battery...if you hook it up backwards the fan will just turn backwards...if the fan don't turn the motor don't work.
Thanks for the replies! I'll check both out today. Tiny leaves are a constant battle at my house, so that's a huge possibility. How do I access the intake? Behind the glove box or from under the hood?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
