Default Bolt Pattern?

Hey everyone this is a stupid question that I should know but don't. What is the bolt pattern on an '82 244? How are bolt patterns measured? How can i determine the bolt pattern on a car. I assume it's easy I just don't know how to do it. Thanks.

All 240s are 5x108 with a 20mm offset. "5x108" is five lugs in a 108mm diameter circle. The offset is the verticle distance from the plane of the mounting surface to the center of the rim.

The only modern-era Volvos that don't have 5x108 is the S40, as far as I know. But I could be wrong about that.

5x108 is common. My Ford Crown Vic has it. But the offset is different.
