Default Brake light switch wires

I just want to warn everyone before I start, im a car fix noob. I know only the basics.

That out of the way, I have a question for you experts. My brake lights on my 1990 740gl don't work all of a sudden, so I checked out the switch wiring. I saw 2 wire harnest things leaving the brake light switch. One goes to the fuse, and the other one (red/blue I think) wires go to the bulb failure sensor (I think it was), accourding to the Chilton book. The one that is supposed to go to the bulb failure sensor is not connected to anything. Its a female connector that looks like it accepts a 2 prong male connector.

The reason I checked out the wiring first is because I don't have the foot guard that goes above my feet, and in the past, I disconnected my remote car start unit with my foot. I figured my brake light problem would be the same cause.

Does anyone know where that connector goes? I desperatly need to be able to drive, walking 8 miles each way to work isn't too fun for my out of shape body.

If you can understand this through the bad grammer and spelling, you deserve a cookie.

Edit: forgot to add that I have a 1990 740gl

Default RE: Brake light switch wires

Update: The blue/red wire is going to a yellow harnest. And another wire the same color comes out of another terminal on that harnest. The wire coming out is connected to that female connector (which isn't connected to anything).
