Default Brake pad/rotor removal '87 244

Can I remove the front brake caliper without having to remove the brake lines and bleed system? Also, can I remove caliper with pads still assembled inside, or must I remove pads first? I just want to get the disc/rotor off and have it turned before I go ahead and buy all new rotors/pads. The current pads look fairly new. I am doing this because my steering wheel shakes when I brake. Thanks to all.........

You can, I think. This page has some useful instructions. Check it out. If your rotor is grooved as well as warped then you should probably get new pads anyway. All the grooves in your rotor are on your pads too, if you have a smooth rotor and grooved pads all the grooves will be copied from one to the other.

Yes, u can remove the caliper without opening the lines. TRY to get the caliper off with the pads inside, itmay be possible, BUT, based on what u're trying to do, DO TAKE the pads off, and sand them downwith a good belt sander-this will get rid of the grooves and with newly turned rotors everything should be fine...
