Default Brake pads 90 740 GL

I have been looking at putting brake pads on my 740 and I wanted opinions on which ones I should buy, I have looked at the following brands: Bendix, EBC, Dan-Block, Centric, Akebono, Hawk So Im trying to put a good set of brakes on that I wont have to worry about for awhile, so what you guys think? I am a moderate daily-driver that likes to have a little fun.

For general d/d use and occasionally showing your backside, genuine Volvo pads are great...and not particularly expensive. Low dust, low noise.

I would go with a ceramic pad. I have used only OEM pads on our 89 740 and the dust has been terrible. In fact the only other car that my kid has is an Audi A4 and the dust on that is worse. I don't know what low dust means on some of the ads but the OEM's in my opinion are not. I hear a lot of the Akebono pads from the Audi groups so I'll try them on my next change. Good luck and keep us posted.

The ceramic Akebono pads are the best. Low dust and not too expensive.

Are the Akebono ceramics quiet? The last set of ceramics I put on a Volvo I ended up throwing in the dumpster after a couple of weeks...was terrible. My cars get washed weekly so perhaps my perspective on brake dust is a bit different.

The Akebonos are quiet on Land Rovers so I assume that they are the same with Volvos.
