A/C not running the cooling fan
Hello Again,
I noticed that my n/a 940's engine cooling fan does not come on when the A/C clutch is operating. I don't think this is normal, as most cars I own run the cooling fan whenever the A/C clutch is energized. []
The fan runs OK when I short the temperature sensor wires on the top right of the radiator, and the car has never overheated, even in hours of stop and go traffic (normal driving conditions here in the NYC metropolitan area ).
I looked at my Chilton's and I can't pinpoint the source of the fan on signal from the A/C. Can someone tell me where to start troubleshooting, or a likely culprit?
TIA

RE: A/C not running the cooling fan
I did some more checking, I was told that with the non-turbo Regina FI the pressure switches on the bottom of the condenser turn on the fans based on system pressure (one for slow fan, one for high speed). The fans work as advertized when I short the switches.
So, I let the engine idle with the air on, and the fan WAS working...this before the coolant was up to normal. So, I guess the system is operating as designed!
Thanks to all, especially Tech![sm=burnout.gif]
It can't stay COLD here in the northeast forever...
