Default Changing Fuel fFilter- Do I need to jack up my car?

I want to change the external(out side the fuel tank) fuel filter. I looked underneath the rear driver wheel area but can't find it. Do I need to jack up the car to get to it?

What car is it and how big are you?

Typically the fuel pump/filter assembly for the 240s is about mid way back behind the drivers seat. I'm 6 feet 200 pounds and COULD do it on the ground if I had too, but much prefer the extra room from some jacks stands.

Yeah I'll be attempting this for the first time tomorrow on my 240. Hopefully it'll be the end all to the problems I've been having.

You don't need to. Its pretty easy to get at everything thats under there without it being jacked up.
