Never heard of a seal cap. But, it may be nice to get a new brass or copper washer (don't know for sure which it is) for the drain plug. Also, IPD offers a plug with a magnet that can catch small filings.

Assuming this is a B230F engine you need a Mann W917 oil filter, 4 quarts of Castrol GTX 10W-30 oil, and a 3/4" copper washer for the drain plug.

just wanted to say thankyou very much for replying guys I greatly appreciate it. Im gonna look into the 3/4" drain plug. I was wondering about the 30 apposed to the 40 oil. Were you recommending the 10W 30 oil apposed to the 10W 40 cause of the weight of the 30 oil for the winter, cause in the manuel it said 10W 40?

thanks guys!

10-40 seems to slow my engines down, and even make the stall. I didn't believe it either, but it's true. I use full syn oil and go 6-7k miles between changes.

It looks like 10W-30 according to the chart in the owner's manual.

I know we all love our Volvos, and so we want to provide with the best in care and all, but: What's the last time a Volvo needed rings, or a valve job? Volvos engines are the last to go, and practically everything will go befiore the engine (the lubricated parts at least).

The 3k oil change is a waste of $, pure and simple, promoted by the oil change, and oil, industry!
