Changing out the clutch Pressure plate?
I just got a clutch kit for my '76 242
After going through hell dropping the tranny, I cleaned it out, scraped off some dirt and unbolted the old clutch.
hooray asbestos!
Now, when I installed the new clutch after replacing the pilot bearing and looking at the flywheel...I don't know how much to tighten down the pressure plate. Should I just tighten it down really flippin hard? Is the clutch plate supposed to be in contact with the pressure plate and flywheel constantly?
I have no idea, first time doing this and it's been all too easy.

it is easy. the clutch disc will be held in by the pressure plate, be sure to use an alignment tool to center the dics with the plate and crank. tighten the plate boltsto 18ft./lb. of torque force.
