Default clutch problem

In the beginning of September we have a clutch put in are 85 240 wagon. We did not get far and we found ourselves without a clutch. Had it towed back to the shop and the whole job was redone, less than 75 miles later almost the same problem. These are all new parts installed a couple of times and the mechanic has told us he has run out of ideas. He takes good care of the other vehicles and seems to know what he is doing, but has given up on this one. Pedal all the way to the floor and she still wants to creep away. Sit and she will stall, and there is a grinding noise when you try engaging or release the clutch pedal. I’m hoping this will be a simple adjustment. Thank you, advance for any help that can be offered.
