Default Considering moving from a 240 to a 940, any advice?

I loved working on my 240s but they are gone away to college with my kids and I'm looking for a new car to restore. I found a very nice looking 1995 940 110k for about $1200 which sounds too good , Is the engine as bullet proof and the wiring still biodegradable or did they get better? How much of my knowledge of the 240 is transferable?

Go for it! I personally prefer the 940 as the last and improved RWD Volvo with the 230FE engine to the 240. The drivetrain is the same as the 240 except for a couple of minor things loke dist location and acc belts. So, the knowledge transfers... The ride is better-longer wheelbase, feels much more spacious and more ergonomic. The biodegradable Volvo wiring ended around 1988, so after that I am not aware of problems. A '95 with these miles for $1200 sounds great, any issues?

That's the thing, I don't know what I don't know. I'm going up to look at it nowand what I do know isdealers don't give stuff away, but they are hurting. Doesn't one of the techs in this forum have a shop around Hollywood, Fl. and I could drive it over to him?
