ok so i have just run into a little problem on my 83 242 turbo...the thingy on the firewall that connects the engine side heater hoses to the in-cabin heater hoses (for the heater core) is leaking...i think. i took it out and cleaned it up real good and put it back in...still leaks...but i cant figure out where its comming from, so my question is this: how often do the heater cores go bad in a 240 with 218K on it? it very well could be the core leaking down the hoses (i havent really gotten into it as it was dark out when i noticed the problem). any ideas would be great. thanks

 

I have seen a few do that.
But maybe the hoses are bad.

 

wow...so simple yet DURRR...one of the hoses to the core was bad haha. problem solved heat works!!
