Default Crank & Int. Seal removal

I'm sure there is probably a post on here for this but I can't find one.

Replacing the intermediate and crankshaft seals and can't get them out. Tried the pick and screwdriver but the seal is almost rock hard and doesn't have any give to work it out.

Thoughts?

Drill a small hole in the seal lip and insert a self tapping screw. Use a pair of pliers or a small slide hammer and pop it out.

Success, sort of.

Crankshaft seal got a screw in there pretty easily and pulled it right out, smashed my damn fingers on the radiator but it come out.

The intermediate seal was impossible to get through even with a drill bit. So I ended up having to "chisel" it out with a pick and screw driver, took awhile but finally came out.

Thanks for the advice.

on to the timing belt.
