Default delayed shifts in AW71

today i flushed my tranny fluid with pennzoil dexronIII in my AW71, 99000 miles. it shifted hard before the flush, now immediately after the flush the shifts are very delayed. it refuses to shift to 2nd before 3500 RPM, and wont shift to 3rd unless i back off of the throttle almost completely. 4th is the same story, need to let off the throttle to get it to upshift. could this be a kickdown cable issue? all of the fluid levels are full, all fresh fluids. help is much appreciated.

ps i used the tranny cooler return line method to flush it.

Possible Kick Down needs adjustment.

i dont know if you know much about automatic trans. but the governer pressure must exceed the throttle pressure to up shift...either you have a bad governer or your throttle pressure is to high...like tech said try adjusting the kick down cable first.

Tech's on to something there.....don't know about the 740 kick down cable but the 240 kick down creats a similar problem. I just squirt some sewing machine oil (or whatever happens to be handy and lite weight) down the cable and call it a day.
