Recently my '92 240 GL began automatically turning on the overdrive when I started the car. At first it was intermittent but now it does it nearly every time. The real problem is I cannot turn it off by pressing the overdrive button. It seems to have to reach some unknown point before it turns off on its on. Any ideas?

 

manual or automatic?
