door locks on a 240
Hi everyone. Im new here, so if im asking something stupid please dont flame me.
Im looking at buying a '92 240 DL. All in all its in good shape, but the current owner doesnt have keys to the doors. Theres one key thats for the ignition. He has no idea at all what the problem is.
Im guessing that at some point either the doors or ignition were rekeyed and the other set was lost.
So i guess my question is this. Is there a way to get a proper key for the doors based on a serial number? Or am i better off just buying a new set of locks for the doors? If the latter, and suggestions on a reputable vendor?
Thanks in advance, sorry if its a frequent post.

RE: door locks on a 240
Did you try the key in ALL doors and trunk? Sometimes a very worn, or sloppy aftermarketkey, will not operate the locks while still OK in the ignition, more or less.
If something was re-keyed, most likely it was the ignition since the car normally has one key for the doors and ignition. What are the odds of re-keying ALL the doors and trunk?
I'd geta NEWkey from the dealer by the VIN, and it may be ok for ALL locks.
