Default Electricity, E-Lec-tricity.

Hello Fellow Volvo drivers,

1991 740T Sedan:
For a good while now I have been in knowledge of all which surrounds me, I am talking about my Volvo. Specifically, an item I noticed in my tank is the ventilation fan controls. Power level 4 is non-op., one, two, three, and five operate, but when the *** is turned to power level four, the fans cease. I only can imagine electrical issues.

Prior to which I encountered an issue the Volvo would cut out and/or stall when the vents were selected to the feet or lower cabin. After I took it to a man to get it checked with no real confirmation upon the issue, I later noticed this fourth fan power level issue.
-Shrug- Fault wiring? I do not know. Of that. What do you think?

thanks.

Yes possibly wiring or some of the resistors the 4 speed runs through but is not dropped down.
Check for Voltage at the motor on 4 and back track.

thanks for the reply...

hmm, interesting. So, i imagine i will be taking dash and a whole other bunch of from cabin components off/apart in order to perform these tests upon voltage? An ohmmeter is required i also imagine. would i refer to a repair book for proper voltage readouts and/or resistor properties? ayeyieyie.

You should only have to drop the lower Dash panel to gain access to the componants.

Sorry I don't have a book though.

There is a resistor pack located by the Blower motor. It is screwed into the Air box.
