my passenger headlight has been going out every now and then. the brights still work, but the dim goes out. sometimes it comes back on. sometimes, I can wiggle the wiring at the back of the lamp and get it to come back on...

is this the wiring? or the bulb?

also...my dole-light is out in the rear (always has been) and I want to replace it. not sure how to get the plastic cover off to get at the bulb. any suggestions?

change the bulb, its easy and cheap. if the new one still does it, then its the wiring.

you're talking about the 3rd brake light? afaik, the cover unsnaps, but ours hasn't gone bad in so long, I don't remember. old plastic gets brittle, which makes it challenging

 

yeah...I was trying to unsnap it, unhook it, unscrew it...whatever, but I couldn't figure it out. I guess I'll keep messing with it and see if I can get it to let go.

worse case if a tab breaks, I've been known to re-install those with a bit of clear RTV (Silicone aquarium sealant), as its fairly easy to remove later...
