Default Is this the fill plug for my Differential?? See pic please

I have a leak and want to top off, but nit sure which rusty bolt to start cranking on. Here's a picture- is it the one to the left center? It does appear to have a washer/gasket behind- but I thought the fill plug would be toward the top right, but there is no way I can see to get above the Diff.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!

Correct. Center left is the fill plug. Upper right is the speedo sensor.

THANKS!! Now my problem is getting that bolt loose. I can't get a good angle to leverage it off- despite using liquid wrench..

Spray it with PB Blaster or Kroil. Let it soak a couple hours. Spray it again. Fit a 6-point socket wrench onto it, no adjustable wrench. You don't want to round the corners off. A 24" breaker bar on the socket will likely break it loose. However, I have seen them so stubborn that a pipe wrench had to be used, and then a new plug installed because a pipe wrench mangles it.

Where can I buy a new diff fill plug? Mine will not budge without a fight.

I believe that plug is not metric but "standard" since the dif is a Dana, a US made unit, size is 1/2 inch. And yes, they are a PITA to get off sometimes, they strip really easy, they are very soft metal . You can get one at the dealer--shouldn't be too much.

Default parts number for Differential service plug

Hi,
I am new to Volvo, just purchased 240 a few weeks ago.
My 93' 240 Station wagon has same style of Differential service plug(Brass on Left center and right for speed).
Do you know parts number for this plug?

To get Volvo dealer is about 18 miles from my house and it helps if anyone suggest me online place for look parts number. Like this small plugs is not at Auto stores but they said they can cross search/order if I know specific Volvo parts number.

Thanks!!

volvo pn 952359, used on ALL rear wheel drive non-IRS volvos. I'd get one from a junkyard, could pull it from any 240,740,940 (or even a 760/960 non-IRS, mostly the wagons)

$6.41 at any Volvo dealer, or $4.80 at TascaParts.com
