First time 240 owner!
Over the weekend I picked up my first 240, 1988 GL model and hopefully it'll serve me well for a long time. Currently the car has under 100k miles and I went through the Carfax to double check and so far it looks legitimate. It's a light grey exterior with blue interior and the seats are super comfortable, its like sitting in grandma's favorite chair in front of the tv.
The plans are to keep it fairly stock and have a reliable and solid driver, it has a few issues but that was expected and the only issue that concerns me is the common tail light failure, or so I've read that it's fairly common. Mechanically its very solid and one of the exhaust manifold gaskets failed so its a bit loud but I ordered the replacement set from IPD with a few other accessories.
Timing belt was serviced three months ago, water pump as well and accessory belts.
My first Volvo was a 2002 S60 model which didn't last very long, I'm already liking this one much better.
Pics to come soon.

Start soaking those manifold bolts with penetrating oil every day for about a week before you try to take it apart and you will be fine!

The rain guards over the windows are definitely coming off. I was going to use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive and then some sort of solvent to remove whatever residue might be left. Is goo-gone or rubbing alcohol suitable? I don't want to ruin the rubber trim or paint.
I forgot an engine photo, the previous owner was very meticulous and clean:
He also installed an inline transmission fluid filter, you can see it near the radiator.
