Default Fitting sensors to my rear bumper...

Hello folk's I need your advice please.

I wish to fit 4x Wireless Parking Sensors to rear bumper of my Volvo 940S Estate.

The bumper looks quite a formidable structure and I do not like drilling into the 'un-known', cables, metal and other concealed items.

Has any Volvo Forum Member had experience of fitting these Sensors ?

Any thoughts will be gratefully received.

Regard's

Default RE: Fitting sensors to my rear bumper...

To come up to date...

Yesterday I shone a torch through the limited space at the rear bumper and saw the location of the metal brackets that held the bumper in situ.. from this I then worked out where I could drill the four holes required into the bumper and avoid these obsticles.

Today I drilled a 3mm pilot hole into the bumper outer skin, this was fine then I struck metal, (4mm aluminium) continued to drill until through. Then I found a 40mm void and then metal again, continued to drill until through. Now I had an access hole all the way through the bumper. Now I could drill to the correct size of the four sensors.

So now I am very pleased to have achieved fitting the sensors and I now will complete the wiring when time permits.

I hope that my experience may have helped someone wishing to fit the same at a reasonable cost of 80GBP.

Regards

BobUK
