i have a 81 240 dl with around 190000 miles on it. When the car is in park (it will also in when your at a stop sometimes) the car shakes pretty badly enough to annoy you after awhile. i was just wondering what the best way to fix this is

 

Not being new to Volvo's but new on trouble shooting them I would wonder about idle settings and/or motor mounts.. I could be way off here.. And someone more knowledgeable correct me if I'm wrong.. As I'm experiancing the same issue w/ my 82 244DL Sedan. Though it only seems to annoy my wife as of late..

When was the last tune up/Throttle cleaning?
How good are the engine mounts?
How good is the trans. mount?

 

Hey whats up man I own a 91 240 289,000. I would say that would be your Hockey Puck Motor Mounts, Get two jacks out and go to work, I have done my twice. When you change your OIL Filter use tin foil to cover that motor mount or it will get rotted, also time will jack them up. Also change your Flame Gaurd cause that might be cloged, it will cause the car to run like crap and may blow the Cam Shaft Vinyl Cap, so keep it clean man. OK later man
