Default Front crankshaft repair sleeve for B23

I did a timing belt on my wife's 88 244 with the stock B23. Put in all of the seals (crank, cam, and intermediate shaft) hoping to stop the seal leaks. The crank is still leaking. Been looking for 2 weeks now and can't find an application for a speedi-sleeve (front crank repair sleeve) for the B23. No one has them in stock, so if I tear the car down to measure, it will take a week or so to get the sleeve in. We can't have the car down that long. We both have to get to work. Anyone know of the correct National (or other) repair sleeve number for the front crank seal area on a B23?

Thanks in advance.

its a B230F, right? B23 was last used circa 1980

front seal is Volvo PN 1276425 $20 from any dealer, or $12 from tascaparts.com

Hey pierce. I appreciate the reply. I can find the seal, it's the speedi sleeve I'm actually looking for. The thin metal sleeve that gets pushed over the seal area to renew the seal surface area of the crank. If anyone has a b23 crankshaft laying around, all I'd need was a measurement of the front crank seal surface. Diameter and width.

been my experience that aftermarket engine seals are mostly junk, and leak, and the real volvo ones tend to work.

Understandable. I use volvo parts whenever I can. I get a wholesale discount at a dealer here, due to the fact that I'm a tech at an indy shop. I did use volvo seals. I felt a small seal rut on the front crank seal area, but had to get the car back together asap. I positioned the seal a little farther forward of where the previous one was, but it still leaks.

Maybe try a bit of sandpaper, 150 grit then 400...just make sure to go slowly and use a damp rag to collect the grit...definitely don't want to feel the indent with your fingernail. You can also use a bit of gasket sealer around the circumference of the seal..and then a bit more after the seal has been installed, kind of mating the seal to the block
