Default fuel pressure regulator: is there a difference?

92 volvo 740 wagon

I think it's the Regina system, not Bosch, but I've also read that the fuel pressure regulators are the same?

What's up?

This leads me to question if I NEED the "regina" fuel pressure regulator or if I can get by with the cheaper Bosch one.

You can use the Bosch on the Regina.

Thanks swiftjustice44!

I changed it tonight.

It's my only car, down to only the 740 wagon. It's the 8 valve and has the square ignition coil, so Regina.

The only fuel pressure regulator I could find in town was for the Bosch, it was "only" $60. The cheapest Regina I could find was $100.

It needed to be replaced as it was leaking more each day and I REALLY don't need an engine fire in my only car...while my wife is driving...my kids.

So anyways, replaced it tonight, wasn't too bad and didn't take too long. Took it for a spin, seems good.

Glad to hear that the computer will alter things to keep it from fouling the plugs and such.

Thanks so much! This forum and people such as swiftjustice44 especially have been a great help on my 740 turbo, 740 wagon and 850.
