Default fuel pump fuses?

Was going to change out my canister fuel filter. Its recommended to remove fuel pum fuses, star engine and run till it dies to bleed pressure before changing filter. I removed both in-tank pump & main pump fuses and engine still runs fine after 10 minutes with ability to run smooth & rev up. What's up?? According to the color coded fuse tags the correct wires are connected to those fuses??

That really doesn't Cut the fuel pump off. If you really want to do that then you will need to unplug it.

I never do that I loosen the line slowly and let the pressure bleed off.

Or push in the Valve on the fuel rail and bleed it off that way.

Thanks for the input Tech, I'll try your valve suggestion, but I'm confused about your fuse explaination. So Volvo installs fuses to interrupt circuits, but the circuits stay live whether or not the fuses are in?

It is like a Back up fuse.
You didn't specify exactly which car you have but you could also remove the relay and let it die.
