Default Fuel Pump problem or Not?

I have a problem when first driving my 85 wagon after it sits overnite or most of the day. It seems like the first 5 minutes I get intermittent split second power loss. Kinda like the in tank pump is not working properly. Once the car "warms up" I don't experience this problem. This happens no matter how much or how little gas I have in the tank, which I am assuming would rule out any problem with the small hose on the in tank pump rotting and sucking in air. It seems more related to the car being "cold".

I have rotated all fuses in the holders to clean them, I have also pulled the fuel pump relay and resoldered all contact points.

Does anybody have any other suggestions given the symptoms?

Thanks, I think this is going to be a tough one to diagnose

Try cleaning your mass air flow sensor, CRC part number is 05110. It is made specifically for mass air flow sensors.

Also try cleaning the throttle body and idle motor.

i have somewhat the same problem. when i start my car cold or on an incline it doesn't want to start. the longer it takes to start also increases the time it takes to regain power and also for the fan belts to stop squeaking. from what i've heard all the responses so far are good ideas. i haven't tried them yet personally as i've been tinkering with my other volvo so if you get around to it first let me know how they work out!
