Default Fuel tank

I have a 1990, 240 DL that I recently purchased and it has some holes in the gas tank. I loosened it but do not know how the filler tube comes loose.

There is a clamp that is accessible (with difficulty) from under the car that attaches the metal filler hose to the tank. If you remove the tank, the tank can be lowered and the filler tube will slide out. I did this once and had to use a long extension on a socket wrench to loosen the clamp. I may have had to use a flex drive on it as well.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I did see the clamp, and your help is appreciated.
