Default fwd - rwd choises

hello, first proper post so please redirect me if im in the wrong place.

i currently have a '95 940 with the 2.3 turbo hpt engine and auto trans and my prefered choice, rwd.

its a good car and i have done the following mods.

a mbc, boost guage, 5.1v zener diode and an extra injector coming in at 12 psi. it works well.

id like to think that being only 74000 miles old it might be doing 210hp when running it at 15 psi boost which it has handled well for 5000 miles or so.

now i want more power. the problem i have is that in the uk you cant seem to get 'proper' tuning parts for the 940 so i cant really go any further with it.
im also aware that the auto in the 940 is only good for 250hp.

this is what leads me to thinking about trading the 940 for a 850 t5 or t5r.

T5 forged parts, camshafts, remaps, exhausts, etc, etc seem to be off the shelf here. so thats why im considering trading the 940 for a 850t5.

You could literally build a 500hp t5 engine for a couple of grand.

Also, the t5r is readily available for £1000 ($1500 im guessing??) and would be more hp stock than my 940 is now

id like to keep rwd but is it worth the sacrifice for more power and tunability.

your opinions welcomed.

Your mother would have you stay away from the T5....Your speed demon wants it bad,
life expectancy will shorten with the T5....thats the feeling I get from your post
RWD is my choice to work on because it's way eazy.
FWD is cramped spaces with more money

If you can control your speed demon...it's awsome move on to the T5's
but if you can't...stay with the 940

that 500HP boosted T5 is going to eat money for lunch, dinner, and a midnight snack.

head gaskets jobs on those whiteblocks are a real ****, and at 500HP, you'll get to become an expert on replacing them. and you'll be eating up expensive front end parts, blowing up the expensive transmission, etc etc.
