I replaced my fuel sending unit/fuel pump today and was very pleased with the result, however, when I went to fill my tank it leaked out.

How does the gasket fit? The one under the big nut. does it sit inside the tank, then the sending unit slips inside it or does it slip inside, but then a lip rests outside the neck of the tank?

it rests on the lip your talking about.....kind of hard to twist on. I replaced mine as it was all flat and thin...with an aftermarket, all though the new one was freaking think in diameter.
