Default God awful squeeling from my brakes.

91 740 turbo. I just replaced the old front warped rotors in hopes the squeeling would be better, but at times it is just as bad. Also when i am on the parkway i get some vibration from time to time when im doing speeds over 50 or so. The sound is as my squeeler (which my pads dont have) is scraping the rotor, but this is not the case. When i did the rotors, the pads looked pretty good, so i did not replace them, could that be the cause of all this darn squeeking? Thanks!

When I had the same problem, somebody told me to re-setup my brakes. I had it made with the help of a family friend. I’ve just been reminded to be careful with my Volvo brake hose because it’s crucial for it to be damaged. The break fluid might leak that will cause worst problem if not noticed during the drive. Fortunately, everything went well after the re-setup. But, I haven’t figured it out what really was the problem or cause of the sound.

Hard to say colgate what's causing your noise. The only thing I can recommend is put some gloves on and dig back into the brake system. Either your backing plate is bent touching the rotor or perhaps there's dirt trapped in the pad material. Either way I don't think you're going to get away with not digging back into the system.

When you have everything off, I suggest cleaning all the parts real good with brush and brake cleaner. This happened to me before.

Yeah, i will try that as soon as i get some time. And tech, they are not OEM. I think i read that if they are not organic pads, they may squeek more?

I installed the PBR metal masters on my 240 because I've had such good luck with them on the past, and presentmercedes that I've owned. They give off next to no dust and they're quiet as can be. No noise at all. You may want to consider those as a replacement.

Aftermarket pads tend to squeel due to harder compound.
