Default Is this a good deal?

High price, but one owner and very low mileage.

Dont do it!!! Even if the milage is low, obviously it was not driven much. Once someone starts driving it daily, things will come up with it.

Wink A good deal?

240 models from 76 to 82, fuel injection parts are getting harder to get but most of all, too expensive. If you need a daily driver, an 86-93 model will suit you better...

I thought it was high and no, I wouldn't spend that much on an old car. Actually, I'm about to sink some $ into a convertible top for my Miata so the car collection is put on hold for a while. It's amazing what people are asking for old Volvos here in Los Angeles, crazy.

So...have they already legalized weed in Cali? It ain't the price of the car that's high...it's the seller! While it is true there are those silly people that think 240's are collectibles, their pricing is way off. If it was an all original 262c then the price would be ok...or an all original GT maybe. It may be nearly 18 years since the 240 was last built but the last time I checked they were not exactly scarce. After you fix your top, if you do contemplate a Brick look at the 86+ models as MA suggests. They have electronic fuel injection and the parts for the system are still quite plentiful.

Maybe the seller is having a bad flashback

I would NOT purchase a 79 for a daily driver!! Hobby car yes. Very hard to find good fuelheads anymore andthey do not sell new. Find an 85-92...93 is one year only fuel injection expensive and hard to find parts too...

If you get a Bug, get one old enough that it's carbureted...the fuel injected ones have the same system as the early 240's.

Yes! I've had many old bugs over my lifetime, only had one that was fuel-injected and that was the one I had trouble with!
