Thumbs down Guess what's wrong with this picture? Fuel sending unit

Off to a great start changing the in-tank fuel pump! I swear, I barely even tugged on it. Is this even repairable, or should I find a new one? If this one broke, who knows when the return line will break. Probably when I try to get that hose off.

I see some "aftermarket" sending units on ebay for 240s, but I don't think they would fit. The next choice is an OEM on from another 740 for about 200 dollars. I would love to not have to spend that money. If I could just find that little tube that broke by itself I think it would be an easy fix.

The last thing I was thinking about was that little clip that is rusty as hell which appears to be a ground (black wire). It seems to wiggle when I push it, and I am concerned that it might not be grounding correctly.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: Just thinking out loud here. Maybe something like
this this
or
this this
and drill out the hole from the old tube. Then get a longer fuel hose from the in-tank pump to the barb?

I was afraid of that. Is ebay the only source for these? All the of the plastic parts of the sender assembly and float are all intact.

Since it is shot anyway, I think I am going to attempt to repair it by going with a 1/4 inch thru-bulk barb, then a 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch fitting. I'll post a picture when I get it done.

Thanks!
