Default has anyone straightened bent jacking points?

Hello,
I have one bent jacking point (for the volvo scissor jack) that makes it impossible to use. Has anyone straightened a bent jacking point on the frame? How would I go about this repair/rebuild?
Thanks,
Andrew

One the car, not the jack itself? Depending on how bad it is and which part is bent... If its the tabs, I would just use a massive screw drive or metal rod and bend/ pull it back.
If it is the rod itself and the tabs. then that would require more bending and I think against the cars rocker panel could help align it. hard to know with out seeing it.

if its bent over, and you bend it back, odds are it will be a lot weaker than it was new.

You have to use body work type technique to get them back in place, if they are a little bent. I have seen them quite mangled due to drivers hitting whatever... To get them perfect, if they are totally squished, you'd have to cut them out, then weld new ones on--not easy DIY repair.

Default so it's a potential fix

The bent one is mashed sideways just enough to make it impossible to "hook" the jack to it. If I understand the comments, I might be able push it back into place (or hammer on it a little). Based on the way the jack seems to operate, the lifting point on the jack actually pushes on the bar in the bracket. Would it seem reasonable for me to weld some metal fillets on either side once I get it back in shape?

Yes.

Previous owner hit something and bent it backwards.

I used a 3' crowbar and a big hammer.

It's not like new, but you can fit the jack hook in there now.

I think I also used a tire iron (not the 'X' type). Stuck it in the opening and pried/teased it back enough to fit the jack again.
