Default Headlights

I put a new battery in and my blub failure sensor came on. Turns out that my high beam light is out on my passenger side, however it blinks whenever I engage the right flasher. Is all of this related to the burnt out headlight?

Might be a bad Light bulb socket.

Question.....aren't the high beams and regular lights two different filaments with-in the same bulb? Could be that the high beam filiment broke?
