Default headlights

have a 90 Volvo 240 DL. Im cleaing up my foggy headlight lenses. So brings me to a question. Has anybody tried LED, Hid, or Xenon kit? If so, what was the outcome. I just would like to have some more light but dont want to install fog lights. Thanks

We replaced those foggy 'tv panel' headlights on our 240 with the Depo brand ones that are exact copy of the stockers, from ebay. the Depo lights use a different plastic that doesn't yellow in the sun the ay polycarbonate does, so they last a lot longer.

putting HID (Xenon si the same thing) in a halogen headlight reflector will make some major glare as the HID light source isn't the same shape as the stock halogen filament.... LEDs have much the same problem.

the ONLY way I'd consider retrofitting HID would be to use projector headlights, such as are used on late model BMWs, and make some sort of custom front end frame/mask to hold them. lotta work, and would look pretty funky unless you're really good with custom fabrication.

Check this modified headlight. I wonder if the headlight being set back so far that would loose some on brights. Like to hear some thougths. Thanks
