heater control switch broken, only cold air
hello again, my 1980 240dl's heater isnt working
the blower is fine and so is the heater core, its just that control switch,
you know the one that goes from cold to hot, well it was really stiff
then it broke and its stuck on cold, its not connected to anything back inside,
how do i fix this or atleast get it on heat only?
thanks!

more information
i traced the cable back into the dash, and i found some pictures on another forum.
by my right foot under the panel is a mechanical lever with a spring on an assembly,
the linkage is broken somewhere up in the dash, because the lever does nothing
the slide was in the fully extended position with the spring holding it there,
i removed the tension spring, and tried to slide the slide towards me
it was stuck but after working it a bit i got it all the way towards me in the fully retracted position.
the air went from being -5c(23f) outside temp, to around 13c(55f). still very cold.
i let it run for a bit but even with the engine hot it isnt above 60,
any ideas?
