It is pretty easy. It is located on the passenger side under the dash.

Tech is right...it is very easy. Usualy when the fan begins to make noises it is on its way out. Your car is a 87' so the fan you need is probbably the one connecter type. But when you take it out you will see. Here is a link to a very good site with TONS of how to do things for your volvo. Good luck! http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/

I have seen you post some instructions for other Volvos. Hope you can help for 89 240DL. I borrow this car from my business partner and friend. I would like to surprize him with it replaced. He gets grief from his wife but is not very handy. I have heard it is time consuming and he was quoted big bucks at a local shop.
Would you be so kind as to suggest a source for instructions?
Are the instructions the same for an 89 240DL wagon?

Brian

Sorry no instructions for the 240 blower motor.
You might want to check on some of the other sites suggested here.
I like this and one other site and only go on these.
