I have a 1990 240 that we replaced the engine in. It idles, but won't rev up. The engine acts
like it has no advance. When we unplug the maf the car revs up a little, but it has no power. Can the air mass sensor be checked or could I have a computer problem?

 

What year is your 240? How did you go about setting the timing? Yes, the AMM can be checked as well as the ecu. However, I would like to hear more about the year of your car and what prompted you to set timing.

 

Thanks for responding. My car is a 1990 240 DL. We put a new engine in because the old one was shot. Changed the timing belt and made sure to align all the marks. The car idles great, but will not rev up. When we unplug the maf the car revs up a little, but it has no power.
