You don't mention whether it is a manual or automatic transmission. For an automatic, 240k does sound about the time where the transmission will go. The turbo has a different transmission than the NA cars. You should be able to find a used replacement not too difficult. I don't know what they run but go up on Turbobricks and you might find out there.
