'92 240 gl wagon. Just forward of rear axle on left side is a small tank with a fuel line attached via small hose and brass fitting. It's leaking. What's it called and what's it supposed to do?

Hm, it really helps if you include a picture...

 

sounds like the fuel pump and filter assembly.... more or less under the back seat, and protected by a metal shield under it?



(thats with the assembly partially lowered, normally its tucked up)
