high R.P.M. ?
Hi,I'm a new member here and just took my 84 245 down the road for the first time in 2 years. The last time I had it on the road I had a problem with stalling when starting from a dead stop. I cleaned out the throttle body installed a new gasket with no change. I changed out the air mass meter and the car will not stall no matter how hard you start from a dead stop but the idle seem's to have a mind of it's own and will jump from 1500 to 2000-2500. I could put the old meter back in as I was able to deal with it but if my wife or one of my kids need to take it it stalls to easy if you don't remember to feather the gas. I can say that the car's acceleration has not been this good since I have owned it. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thank you' John.
it should idle at 700rpm, give or take about 50, once its warmed up. if its cold, the idle could be closer to 1000 rpm for the first couple minutes
anything higher than that is an indication that something is wrong
